John Deere has released the model year 2027 update of its 6R Large and Xtra Large Frame tractor range, introducing technical refinements aimed at road transport performance, operator environment, precision farming capability and long‑term operating efficiency.

Walldorf, Germany, June 8, 2026 — John Deere today released the model year 2027 (MY27) update of its 6R Large and Xtra Large Frame tractor range, introducing technical refinements aimed at road transport performance, operator environment, precision farming capability and long‑term operating efficiency. The updated range comprises four Large Frame models (6R 180, 6R 200, 6R 220, 6R 240) and two Xtra Large Frame models (6R 230 & 6R 260), with outputs up to 305 hp with IPM.

Ride comfort: automotive ergonomics, adaptive damping, steering and braking updates

The new 6R road transport performance has been further improved with the Sport Package Pro, combining chassis, steering and braking updates to improve stability, ride quality and steering precision on- and offroad.

Central to this package is the updated TLS™ Pro front axle suspension that combines adaptive, adjustable damping and suspension with automotive‑grade components and reinforced suspension cylinders. The system continuously adapts to speed, load and surface conditions and is calibrated to each frame size. It operates fully automatically or can be adjusted via custom mode to suit operator preferences and ballast configuration.

The next‑generation Hydraulic Cab Suspension (HCS) features new low‑friction suspension cylinders, an updated controller and revised cab mounting components. Together, these improvements reduce vibration, harshness and noise and protect the driver from uneven ground conditions.

For MY27, a redesigned steering column with foot‑operated memory adjustment improves ergonomics and ensures a consistent driving position. A new 33 cm contoured leather steering wheel and a flatter steering column angle enhance steering precision and comfort, while a new displacement‑based braking system and automotive‑style pedals deliver progressive deceleration and easy changing of pedals without lifting the heel. Adjustable seat damping, wider rim options, Variable Ratio Steering and the new Reactive Steering complement the Sport Package Pro.

CommandView 4 Cabin: revised layout, visibility and noise reduction

The MY27 6R tractors introduce the CommandView™ 4 versatility cabin, designed to improve ergonomics, visibility and acoustic comfort. Increased cab volume and a revised layout provide more legroom and a more natural seating position.

A redesigned cab frame with forward‑sloping C‑pillars and a curved rear window improves rear implement visibility by up to 20% compared to the previous model. Interior noise levels are specified at 66 dB(A), supported by measures such as relocating steering and braking valves outside the cab, optimised cab mounting, quieter air conditioning blowers and a sound‑absorbing cab floor.

The next‑generation CommandARM™ adds a convenience display for adjusting seat, CommandARM™ and cab settings, including climate control, media and new nine‑colour ambient lighting. The standard CommandX™ Plus or optional CommandX™ Pro joysticks are available for the new e19™ full PowerShift and AutoPowr™ transmissions. The new 'Vision Seat' tops the seat portfolio, offering 50° swivel, electric adjustments and premium comfort features, such as neck ventilation.

Further cab updates include a touchscreen radio with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 6.1 sound system with subwoofer, wireless phone charging as standard, up to four USB-C ports, an 8.5-litre compressor-cooled refrigerator and a more powerful air conditioning system. Additional functional improvements include automatic display pre-booting when the door is opened to enter the cabin, a 320-degree windshield wiper, a new right-hand side wiper, automatic trailer steering axle lock when reversing, and a fully integrated Category IV cabin filter.

Precision farming: hardware installed, functions activated via licence

All MY27 6R tractors are delivered with StarFire™ 7500 integrated receiver, G5 CommandCenter™ and JDLink™ modem, enabling immediate access to guidance, automation and even supervised autonomy, subject to licence selection. Available functions include AutoPath™ Rows and Boundaries, AutoTrac™ Turn Automation, Passive Implement Guidance, and satellite map visualisation. In‑field Data Sharing synchronises multiple machines working on the same job, while DataSync transfers documentation wirelessly to the John Deere Operations Center™.

Automated job reports give contractors clear, ready‑to‑invoice documentation for every task, reducing administrative effort. Real‑time machine and fleet management improves visibility of utilisation, status and logistics. 'Work Plan Sharing' with customers streamlines job setup and avoids errors, while optional Machine Sync enables efficient leader‑follower operation in harvesting logistics.

Model highlights: 6R 240 and 6R 260, the contractor and large arable specialists

With an average shipping weight of 8,900 kg and up to 291 hp with Intelligent Power Management (IPM), the new 6R 240 delivers exceptional power density at just 30.5 kg per horsepower. It combines the series‑turbocharged engine of the 6R 260 with a compact 2,800 mm wheelbase, creating a highly powerful all-rounder machine especially suited for contracting operations. The standard AutoPowr™ transmission offers up to 85% efficiency, supported by hydraulics up to 210 l/min, up to six fully independent rear SCVs plus two front SCVs and a Power Beyond hydraulic connection. A tight 5.6 m turning radius underlines its versatility for planting, mowing, baling and transport work.

At the top end of the range, the MY27 6R 260 delivers up to 305 hp with IPM and introduces the new e19™ full powershift transmission. Building on the PowrQuad™ technology, it integrates a dual-clutch design and advanced proportional control valves to ensure smooth, uninterrupted gear changes, a more dynamic driving experience and exceptional pulling performance. On the road, scroll and skip shifting ensure smooth and quick acceleration.

The specification also includes integrated single‑line Central Tyre Inflation System (CTIS) with a dedicated 700l/min dual-piston compressor that can inflate 1 bar in only 4:30 minutes. For the 6R 230 and 6R 260, optional EZ Ballast adds up to 1,700 kg at the push of a button while maintaining the ideal 40/60 weight distribution.
