Are you looking to accelerate your career as an Agricultural or Turf Technician working on John Deere equipment?

Our Level 3 Diploma in Land-Based Engineering is an intensive 24-month development programme designed for ambitious individuals with strong academic ability and a passion for agricultural or turf machinery.

The programme combines classroom learning, practical workshop training, workplace experience and industry-recognised qualifications, providing a fast-track route to becoming a highly skilled Land-Based Engineer and John Deere Certified Technician.

As part of the programme, you will learn how to service, maintain, diagnose and repair agricultural and turf machinery and equipment.

You will gain hands-on experience in the workshop, working alongside qualified technicians and gradually taking on more responsibility as your skills and confidence develop.

The programme combines depot-based learning with block release training at one of the John Deere specialist training centres, giving you the opportunity to apply your knowledge in a real working environment while developing a thorough understanding of John Deere products, systems and standards.

Learners will receive specialist training in diagnostics, precision technologies, machine optimisation and advanced repair techniques, supported by experienced mentors throughout their development. Successful completion leads to a nationally recognised Level 3 Diploma in Land-Based Engineering and recognition as a John Deere Certified Technician.

 

About You

We are looking for enthusiastic, practical individuals who enjoy problem-solving and have an interest in engineering, mechanics, agricultural or turf machinery. Previous study in Land-based Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Maths, Science or a related technical subject would be beneficial, but equally important is a willingness to learn, ask questions and get involved.

 

Entry Requirements

  • GCSEs: Maths, English Language and Science at Grade 4 (C) or above.
  • Alternative Qualifications: A relevant Level 2 engineering qualification, A-Levels, or another higher-level qualification in a related discipline.
  • Interest and Aptitude: A genuine interest in machinery, engineering and mechanical servicing, with a desire to learn, develop technical skills and pursue a career in the land-based engineering industry.
