Credit Controller

Position available at Ripon

We are looking for an enthusiastic Credit Controller to join our Finance team based at Ripon. As one of our Credit Controllers you will play an important role within the credit control department in meeting cash flow requirements. You will be required to build and maintain client relationships and ensure our service standards are maintained to the highest level.

To succeed in this role, you will require excellent administrative and customer service skills with an eye for detail.  You will act as the point of contact for the Credit Control team for both internal and external customers and you will need to communicate effectively across all departments, branches and direct with our customers.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum 3 years experience within a cash collection role
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Excellent teamwork and organisational skills
  • Strong Excel and Word skills
  • MICM preferred but not essential

Agricultural Service Mechanic

Positions available at Ripon, Retford, Keighley, Louth, Malton, Tadcaster, Darrington, Market Weighton, Ottringham, Stockton & Brigg

Duties

To work in a busy Agricultural Service Department performing maintenance and repairs on agricultural machinery. This work will often be done at customer’s farms ensuring plenty of local travel around the area.

Qualities

Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems is required to enable the repair of agricultural equipment. A base understanding of agriculture and machinery would be essential. A driving licence would be required as there will be a need to drive company vehicles.

Hours of work

Monday to Friday (8am till 5pm) with flexible overtime to suit the business demands at evenings and weekends.

Working Supervisor

Position available at Darrington

Whilst working as a Technician ensure that all machinery is progressed through the workshop and repaired on time. Supervises and supports the technicians using a “right first time” approach to ensure all work is carried out correctly and quality checks repairs to maximize customer satisfaction and departmental profitability. Shares information regarding technician skills and training needs to the Outlet Service Manager. Aftermarket sales oriented.

Duties

  1. Greets customers and listens carefully to their needs in the absence of the service manager.
  2. Liaises with the customer if necessary to correctly diagnose nonstandard or intermittent faults, either on the phone or face to face, or by a road test which may be accompanied by the customer.
  3. Uses diagnostic tools as well as personal experience to diagnose faults
  4. Plans and allocates work for Technicians based on their expertise and skills.
  5. Directs and assists Technicians in their tasks to ensure repairs are completed correctly.
  6. Checks all completed jobs to ensure they are complete and accurate for both parts and labour, and any warranty process in a timely manner with the support of admin and Outlet Manager.
  7. Ensure that all warranty returnable parts are tagged correctly after each repair.
  8. Ensures that service processes, policies and guidelines are followed and applied safely, including any health and safety advice or procedures. This includes ensuring all timecards are fully completed.
  9. Responsible for the special tool inventory and recommends the purchase of new tools if necessary to the service manager.
  10. Maintains good discipline and organisation for the workshop, ensuring it is clean, tidy and safe, and monitors the workshop team. Ensures that all waste streams are correctly located and disposed of.
  11. Shares daily discussions with the Service Manager to review workshop performance and to address any specific issues, and is aware of departmental targets and what is required to achieve them.
  12. Coordinates the training program with the Service Manager and ensures that tasks given to Technicians are consistent with their expertise.
  13. Ensures PDI delivery times are met for the sales department, and any associated deliveries are supported by the logistics team and handover personnel.
  14. Liaises with all departments, especially parts for pre-picking and maximizing of discount levels
  15. Maintains ongoing relationships with John Deere and other manufacturer personnel.
  16. Supervises and coaches the workshop team from the workshop floor in their role as a Workshop Technician.
  17.  Acts in a professional manner and actively promotes Ripon Farm Services and John Deere with positivity and integrity and communicates effectively with all parties to drive the business forward

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience as a Service Technician
  • Ability to lead others, and work independently.
  • High level of communication and human relations
  • Ability to train and coach others on technical issues.
  • Pays attention to detail and works within prescribed rules and regulations
  • Ability to use standard computer applications and internet functions
  • Familiar with John Deere and competitive products

Agricultural Technician Apprentice

Positions available at Brigg, Malton, Keighley, Louth, Darrington, Market Weighton and Stockton

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our aftersales team in our Service department as a Service Apprentice. The apprenticeships are provided through John Deere and ProVQ with the emphasis firmly on farm machinery. As an apprentice you will develop skills and proficiency in a wide range of technical areas, from routine maintenance and servicing through to complex component overhauls utilising the very latest John Deere diagnostic equipment.

At the end of the apprenticeship, you will receive an industry recognised qualification upon competition. The Land-Based Service Engineering Technician apprenticeship follows the level 3 Apprenticeship Standard; Land-Based Service Engineering Technician (ST0243).

The program duration is approximately 36 to 48 months and includes 24 weeks of block release training spread over 3 years conducted at purpose-built training facility in Radcliffe on Trent, Nottinghamshire.  At the end of the training period you will need to complete and EPA. This will consist of online tests, practical observations, and professional discussions using the evidence collected throughout your apprenticeship.

Qualities

  • As our apprentice you will need an appetite for learning and an enthusiasm for the industry.
  • Knowledge of agricultural equipment would be preferred but full training on systems and product will be provided.
  • Apprentices are required to have achieved English & Maths at GCSE A-C or 4 & above, or Functional Skills Level 2 prior to being put forward for EPA.

Groundcare Technician

Positions available at Ripon and Stockton

General duties

You will need to demonstrate the ability to perform diagnostics and repairs on agricultural or turf equipment proficiently whilst protecting the departments’ profitability. This will be from both the depot and at customers premises.

Through your knowledge and experience, advise customers on optimisation techniques for their machines and products and services offered by Ripon Farm Services and John Deere. Understand the manufacturers’ customer care process.

Successfully complete mandatory training to support product knowledge and to maintain and develop your skills and knowledge. You must comply with all Health and Safety legislation, Company Policies and Procedures, to ensure the safety of all staff, customers, and visitors.

Complete all reports and administration required for work assignments on time.

Ensure own and company tools are stored neatly and in their correct locations and are adequately maintained. Maintain a clean workstation, company vehicle, and associated areas.

Perform pre-delivery set up on new or used equipment and supports service specialists when required.

The role requires you to act in a professional manner and actively promote Ripon Farm Services with positivity and integrity. Knowledge of agricultural equipment would be preferred but full training on products and systems and will be provided. A driving licence will be required as there will be a need to drive company vehicles and agricultural equipment.

Hours of work

Groundcare (Turf) Apprentice

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our aftersales team in our Groundcare department as a Turf Apprentice. The Turf Technician apprenticeship develops exactly the same skills as its agricultural equivalent, but with the focus more on machines used by golf courses, sports grounds, local authorities, landscapers and country estates. Panel Technician

Ripon Paint and Body is an accident and repair centre part of the Ripon Farm Services Group.

Operating from new purpose built premises, Ripon Paint and Body holds a number of insurance and manufacture approvals including Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover and the VW Group to name but a few.

General duties

Auto body panel technicians must communicate with customers and employees to plan and execute repairs to structural assemblies or panel replacement jobs on a variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks and agricultural equipment. They will be required to have knowledge of specialty techniques, including the use of multi materials, welding of different types of metals and alloys and repair and fill to exacting standards.

Completes tasks using manufacturers specified repair methods with accuracy and minimal waste. Completes all work, reports and administration required for work assignments are recorded and provided in a timely manner.

Complies with all Health and Safety legislation and Company Policies and Procedures, to ensure safety of all staff, customers, and visitors.

Participates in any mandatory training Certification programs required for the development of the business and their skills and knowledge. Maintains equipment to exacting standards.

Paint Technician

Ripon Paint and Body is an accident and repair centre part of the Ripon Farm Services Group.

As a Paint Technician, you will be required to:

  • Performs paint refinishing on all aspects of vehicles;
  • Participates in any required training;
  • Able to mix paint colours with accuracy and minimal waste;
  • Has the ability to colour match accurately and utilise spray out cards to prevent over blending;
  • Completes tasks using manufacturers specified repair methods.

Service / Mechanical Technician

Ripon Paint and Body is an accident and repair centre which is part of the Ripon Farm Services Group. Operating from new purpose-built premises with, Ripon Paint and Body holds several insurance and manufacturing approvals, including Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover, Nissan, together with the Stellantis and VW Group approvals.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading Bodyshop within the Automotive Industry. The successful applicant will have previous working experience as a Mechanic, ideally with MET and MOT certification.

You will be required to complete mechanical repairs for manufacturers, insurance companies and the public.  Day to day duties will vary but include repairing a variety of vehicles from the company fleet, to carrying out mechanical, electrical, and trim repairs to accident damaged vehicles. Training will be required to ensure compliance with repair approvals, and support will be given.

Skills and abilities

  • Able to carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standards
  • Inspecting a vehicles engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately, using computer-based diagnostic equipment
  • Accurately record time to complete jobs and associated details and complete all documentation to the required standard
  • Department of Transport (MOT) testing duties (if approved tester)

Experience

IMI Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle maintenance & repair or an equivalent qualification.
