Driver

Stockton and Keighley

Ripon Farm Services is a family owned multibranch agricultural dealer covering 12 sites within Yorkshire, Teesside, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. 

We are responsible for the sale and aftersales support of a wide range of agricultural machinery and products, predominantly the exciting John Deere range of products. 

Duties

  • Support with the collection or delivery of wholegoods when required;
  • Receive in goods and proactively storing items into their correct locations;
  • Ensuring all administration duties are completed;
  • Assist with general housekeeping activities and tasks.

You will be expected to maintain the company delivery vehicles in a clean state and carry’s out weekly safety checks and inform our Manager of any faults relating to the vehicle. 

Trailer license required.

The role requires you to act in a professional manner and actively promote Ripon Farm Services and John Deere with positivity and integrity. Knowledge of agricultural equipment would be preferred but full training on products and systems and will be provided.

Hours of work

Monday to Friday with weekend work required as part of a rota.

Must be flexible to support the business needs with seasonal demands.

Panel Technician

Bodyshop

Ripon Paint and Body is an accident and repair centre part of the Ripon Farm Services Group.  It is a family owned multibranch agricultural dealer covering 12 sites within Yorkshire, Teesside, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

Operating from new purpose built premises, Ripon Paint and Body holds a number of insurance and manufacture approvals including Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover and the VW Group to name but a few.

General duties:

Auto body panel technicians must communicate with customers and employees to plan and execute repairs to structural assemblies or panel replacement jobs on a variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks and agricultural equipment. They will be required to have knowledge of specialty techniques, including the use of multi materials, welding of different types of metals and alloys and repair and fill to exacting standards.

Completes tasks using manufacturers specified repair methods with accuracy and minimal waste. Completes all work, reports and administration required for work assignments are recorded and provided in a timely manner.

Complies with all Health and Safety legislation and Company Policies and Procedures, to ensure safety of all staff, customers, and visitors.

Participates in any mandatory training Certification programs required for the development of the business and their skills and knowledge. Maintains equipment to exacting standards.

Ensures own and company tools are stored neatly and in their correct locations.

The role requires you to act in a professional manner and actively promote Ripon Paint and Body with positivity and integrity. Knowledge of working in a Bodyshop environment is essential. A driving licence will be required as there will be a need to drive company vehicles.

Hours of work

Monday to Friday (8am till 5pm).

Paint Technician – Bodyshop

Ripon Paint and Body is an accident and repair centre part of the Ripon Farm Services Group. It is a family owned multibranch agricultural dealer covering 12 sites within Yorkshire, Teesside, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

Operating from new purpose built premises, Ripon Paint and Body holds a number of insurance and manufacture approvals, including Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover and the VW Group to name but a few.

As a Paint Technician, you will be required to:

  • Performs paint refinishing on all aspects of vehicles;
  • Participates in any required training;
  • Able to mix paint colours with accuracy and minimal waste;
  • Has the ability to colour match accurately and utilise spray out cards to prevent over blending;
  • Completes tasks using manufacturers specified repair methods.

Group Marketing Manager

The position of Group Marketing Manager reports into the Commercial Director and will be based in Ripon. You will be responsible for developing and delivering the go-to-market strategy for the Company working in conjunction with the Sales and Aftermarket Management teams.

In addition, the Group Marketing Manager will assist with the communication and mainstreaming of John Deere Precision Ag strategy across the AOR along with promotion of the Ripon Farm Services Brand.

Objectives

  • Improve lead generation and drive sales participation of key products and brands such as tractors, combines, forage harvesters, sprayers, grassland products, John Deere, Kuhn and Kramer;
  • Promote the RFS Brand as Ag Machinery supplier of choice in harvest and foraging across all media platforms;
  • Develop a market leading website with a focus on lead generation;
  • Marketing of used equipment;
  • Develop the use of CRM for tactical marketing initiatives;
  • Development and implementation of Account Based Marketing strategy and tactics;
  • Manage Marketing budget for continuous improvement in cost per opportunity.

Marketing Manager Requirements:

  • Ability to help define and implement the strategic Marketing Strategy;
  • Key account management with both manufacturers and key customers;
  • Support and drive internal co-operation;
  • Develop the Company’s CRM strategy;
  • Demonstrate strong Brand Marketing experience;
  • Ability to monitor the effectiveness of marketing plans/campaigns and respond accordingly;
  • Commercially minded with the ability to support the Company’s budgets for revenue and gross profit;

Agricultural Service Mechanic

Duties

To work in a busy Agricultural Service Department performing maintenance and repairs on agricultural machinery. This work will often be done at customer’s farms ensuring plenty of local travel around the area.

Qualities

Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems is required to enable the repair of agricultural equipment. A base understanding of agriculture and machinery would be essential. A driving licence would be required as there will be a need to drive company vehicles.

Hours of work

Monday to Friday (8am till 5pm) with flexible overtime to suit the business demands at evenings and weekends.

General duties:

We’re looking for an enthusiastic person to join our aftersales team in our Parts department. The parts adviser role is varied as you’ll be key to helping customers, our service department and sales department with the parts they require while keeping on top of stocking, ordering and promotional displays. A key member of a small parts team, you’ll be instrumental to the branch and our customers.

Qualities

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our aftersales team in our Service department as a Service Apprentice. The apprenticeships are provided through John Deere and ProVQ with the emphasis firmly on farm machinery. As an apprentice you will develop skills and proficiency in a wide range of technical areas, from routine maintenance and servicing through to complex component overhauls utilising the very latest John Deere diagnostic equipment.

At the end of the apprenticeship, you will receive an industry recognised qualification upon competition. Our Land-Based Service Engineering Technician apprenticeship follows the level 3 Apprenticeship Standard; Land-Based Service Engineering Technician (ST0243).

The program duration is approximately 36 to 48 months and includes 24 weeks of block release training spread over 3 years conducted at purpose-built training facility in Radcliffe on Trent, Nottinghamshire.  At the end of the training period you will need to complete and EPA. This will consist of online tests, practical observations, and professional discussions using the evidence collected throughout your apprenticeship.

Qualities

  • As our apprentice you will need an appetite for learning and an enthusiasm for the industry.
  • Knowledge of agricultural equipment would be preferred but full training on systems and product will be provided.
  • Apprentices are required to have achieved English & Maths at GCSE A-C or 4 & above, or Functional Skills Level 2 prior to being put forward for EPA.

Groundcare Technician – Ripon and Tadcaster

General duties:

You will need to demonstrate the ability to perform diagnostics and repairs on agricultural or turf equipment proficiently whilst protecting the departments’ profitability. This will be from both the depot and at customers premises.

Through your knowledge and experience, advise customers on optimisation techniques for their machines and products and services offered by Ripon Farm Services and John Deere. Understand the manufacturers’ customer care process.

Successfully complete mandatory training to support product knowledge and to maintain and develop your skills and knowledge. You must comply with all Health and Safety legislation, Company Policies and Procedures, to ensure the safety of all staff, customers, and visitors.

Complete all reports and administration required for work assignments on time.

Ensure own and company tools are stored neatly and in their correct locations and are adequately maintained. Maintain a clean workstation, company vehicle, and associated areas.

Perform pre-delivery set up on new or used equipment and supports service specialists when required.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our aftersales team in our Groundcare department as a Turf Apprentice. The Turf Technician apprenticeship develops exactly the same skills as its agricultural equivalent, but with the focus more on machines used by golf courses, sports grounds, local authorities, landscapers and country estates. The apprenticeships are provided through John Deere and ProVQ.

Trailer Centre Mechanic/Electrician

Ripon Trailer Centre, North Bridge, Ripon HG4 1HY

General duties:

To work in our trailer centre in Ripon performing repairs and maintenance on customer and dealer owned equipment. You will also help the other departments when required including liaising with customers regarding trailer sales, serving customers in the showroom and helping the parts department when they need it.

You should be self-motivated with an attitude to do what is needed at the time. You will have mechanical/ engineering experience and be comfortable completing a number of basic machinery repairs as well as diagnosing electrical faults.

A driving licence would be required as there will be a need to drive company vehicles. A trailer licence would be preferred but it is not essential as if you do not have one, we will ensure you can get one as it will be required. Must be computer literate.
