Role overview

Responsible for demonstrations, deliveries and training on agricultural machinery showing the capacity, accuracy, and efficiency benefits to a customer base of well-informed end users at any RFS outlet. Supports the Company’s sales team activities, exhibitions, working events when requested.

Duties:

  • To demonstrate and install agricultural machinery to the required audience.
  • Maintains a strong relationship with the dealership team and customers.
  • Instructs customers on features, usage and optimization of technology.
  • Demonstrates a methodical approach to machine set up and calibration in line with customer requirements.
  • Completes all reports and administration required for work assignments on time.
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
  • Participates in Training & Certification programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.
  • Can advise customers on optimisation techniques for their machines.
  • Is aware of our technology offerings, its capabilities and actively promotes this to all potential customers.
  • Performs pre-delivery set up on new or used equipment.
  • Supports Service Specialists when required.
  • Understands the manufacturers customer care process.
  • Complies with all Health and Safety legislation, to ensure safety of all staff, customers, and visitors.
  • Acts in a professional manner and actively promotes Ripon Farm Services and John Deere with positivity and integrity.
  • Maintains personal awareness of the company’s quality procedures and is presentable at all times.
  • Attends manufacturer update courses when required.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ability to build and promote strong customer relationship.
  • Familiar with John Deere and competitive products.
  • Ability to interpret and implement technical instructions.
  • Good written and oral communication skills as well as presentation skills.
  • 3+ years’ experience within the agricultural industry and machinery operation.
  • Be well versed with current agricultural practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to priorities.
  • Flexible approach to completing the assigned tasks.
  • Ability to use standard computer applications.
  • Vehicle driving licence essential.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.
