Introduction
Latest technology allows engine manufacturers to meet emission regulations. However, to achieve this similar improvements in fuel quality are also required. Using low quality fuel in modern engines can cause many problems from premature blocking of fuel filters to poor running and increased fuel consumption.
In addition, good practice with regard to storing and handling diesel fuel are more important than ever.
Bulk tanks and bowsers must be in good condition. In-line filters should be installed on bulk tanks and bowsers to act as an additional level of protection. Various fuel treatments are available from John Deere. The table below provides a quick guide as to when each treatment should be used.
Recommendations for fuel quality and good practice for handling and storing fuel are contained in the Operator's Manual delivered with John Deere machinery. |
