Flail head design: efficiency first and foremost!
The Multi-Longer can be used with two types of flail head: one with direct drive 1 and the other with an indirect belt drive 2.
The direct-drive head has a working width of 1.20 m. A hydraulic motor drives the universal rotor directly. This rotor is equipped with forty-eight 12 mm shackle-mounted Y-flails 3.
The compactness of the assembly makes it possible for the machine to work behind the tractor wheel.
The indirect-drive head comprises a hydraulic motor which operates the rotor via two cog-type V-belts. This setup offers the advantage of being compact, silent and progressive. The rotor is equipped with sixty 14 mm shackle-mounted Y-flails 4.
This flail unit comes with a self-guided coupling device enabling the driver to change tools without assistance, simply and safely 5.
The rotors on these two heads are symmetrical for easier maintenance. In addition to quick and easy removal, this concept offers the advantage of reversibility: you can therefore optimise wear on the rotor flails and lugs.
Both heads are also fitted as standard with a “grass” hood, interchangeable wear shoes, wire protection baffles for the rotor, a removable wear plate on the casing and a “pro” category sensor roller with a diameter of 140 mm and removable ends for a smooth rolling action |
